The Advanced Open Water Diver course consists of 6 open water dives. The first one consists of a dive we call "check dive" to observe the diver's level. In addition, you will practice two compulsory specialties which are the deep dive and navigation where you will learn to explore below 18 metres and use a compass among other techniques.
On the other hand, you will do three specialty dives of your choice. Here are some of the many options: Dive Against Debris, Dry Suit, Enriched Air, Fish Identification, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search and Recovery, Delayed Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB) and Underwater Naturalist. For each specialty dive you complete, you can earn credit towards PADI Specialty certifications.
