Freediving is about inner power, discipline and control. The PADI Basic Freediver course teaches you breathing and swimming techniques. You will discover that your personal limits are not what you think.
Overview
Duration 1 day
Pre-requisites minimum age of 12 years. Must be able to swim. No previous freediving experience required
The PADI Basic Freediver course consists of an online theoretical part that will help you understand the basic concepts of freediving and the physiological processes that occur in our body during the practice of this discipline. You can complete this first part at your own pace from home. Later, we will review the concepts in the classroom.
During the practical part, you will learn to breathe consciously and relax. We will conduct two pool freediving sessions (one static breath-hold and one dynamic) where we will teach you the correct technique to optimize oxygen consumption. The goal of these sessions is to achieve a 90 second static breath-hold and a 25-meter dynamic apnea.
At the end of the course PADI Basic Freediver, we will give you the Basic Freediver Certification, which will allow you to conduct pool freediving sessions. If you wish to continue your training, you have the opportunity to proceed with the PADI Freediver course, where you will put into practice the concepts learned to start deep freediving in the sea.
